NetsGC has added Kory “Chess” Taylor to its roster in response to the season-long suspension for Rando, the team announced today.

Chess qualified for the season three draft pool through the Hornets Venom GT offseason tournament, but went undrafted. With a backcourt spot open, the Nets turned to a guard whom many regarded as one of the draft’s biggest snubs. The shooting guard will be with the team for the remainder of the season.
Chess is not the first player to join a team away from the draft. In season one, Pacers Gaming added Shockey in place of Tha Playa, their sixth-round draft pick, midway through the 2018 season. Shockey played four games for the Pacers before being selected by NetsGC in the 2018 expansion draft. He was not drafted again in 2020.
NetsGC is yet to play a series in season three, the last of the league’s 23 teams to debut. The team will tip off its campaign against Mavs Gaming (4-2) in week three before four games in week five.
