Hosted by team Mavs Gaming Brand Ambassador Jourdan Kerl, the series is designed to offer fans a general look at the NBA 2K League through interviews and highlights from a Mavs Gaming-focused perspective. The series will also feature NBA 2K highlights sent in by fans.
Kerl is the producer of the On the Sticks Podcast, and has written for ESPN and The Shadow League. She joined the Mavs Gaming front office after the first season as part of a sweeping front office reconstruction in Dallas. The Mavericks also hired Trey Christensen as director of esports and Jonathan Miller as esports manager after a turbulent season that saw the much-hyped squad miss the playoffs.
Mavs Gaming protected former first-overall pick Dimez, repeatedly deeming the Cleveland native their franchise player. The team traded Dayfri to Wizards District Gaming in exchange for the 14th overall pick in the 2019 NBA 2K League entry draft. The Mavs also hired former Bucks Gaming draft analyst Toijuin Fairley as head coach after season-one coach Jonah Edwards resigned (Magic Gaming subsequently hired Edwards as head coach). An opening for an assistant coach position was also listed online by the team.
