Heat Check Gaming has agreed to send Lotty to Jazz Gaming for MOAM, the team announced Sunday.
Jazz Gaming had placed MOAM on the trade block, according to a DIMER report, and the team finally found a deal for him after he scored 19 and 22 points in two week 8 games, the latter coming in a win over Heat Check.
The Heat, mired in a major five-game slump, will acquire the scoring wing in an effort to bolster the team’s offense. With a current 4-7 regular season record, and no Ticket bid on the cards, Miami has an outside shot at the playoffs.
In Lotty, the Jazz acquire a lock, potentially allowing Deedz to move up to a two-way frontcourt position. The wing player is also childhood friends with Jazz Gaming star Compete, both of Mount Vernon, New York. Jazz Gaming currently holds a 5-5 record in regular season play.
“We can’t wait to bring Lotty into the fold as we make a run for the playoffs in the final weeks of the season,” said Jelani “Comp” Mitchell, head coach of Jazz Gaming. “We’d like to thank MOAM for all of his contributions to our team throughout the season and wish him nothing but the best in Miami.”
MOAM has averaged 15.1 points and 2.3 steals per game across seven regular season contests, shooting 55% from the field and 42% from beyond the arc. Lotty has been one of the most efficient offensive lockdown defenders in the league, shooting 72% from the field and 67% from three en route to 10.5 points per game. He’s also added 2.6 steals per game.
“I appreciate the passion that Lotty brought to Heat Check Gaming and wish him well on his path in the NBA 2K League,” said Heat Check Gaming GM/Coach, Derric “Famous Enough” Franklin. “As the trade deadline got closer, I knew that we needed a knock down shooter and MOAM gives us just that.”
The NBA 2K League in-season trade window closes on June 16, the day after the Ticket tournament in Orlando. Each team is allowed up to two trades over the span of the two trade windows (the first took place last offseason after the expansion draft). This move is Jazz Gaming’s first move. Heat Check Gaming acquired Hood from T-Wolves Gaming in exchange for JMoney, meaning they must wait until the offseason to make their next trade.
