Magic Gaming’s “Orlando Open” tournament allowed the team to distribute two draft pool spots, in line with other team tournament rewards this offseason. Show No Mercy defeated From the Zoo in a tightly contested best-of-three series to take home the tournament title and the $4000 prize pool. OfficialMoon2k was named MVP of the tournament, while xFTWx6 took home Finals MVP, earning both the draft pool spots.
“I’m just so overwhelmed right now. Super happy. I’m honestly lost for words,” OfficialMoon2k said.
The players will be added to the 2020 Entry Draft pool pending the completion of their combine games played requirements.
βAnything is possible,” xFTWx6 told DIMER. “Just because you might not have a name, or people might not know who you are, believe in yourself and never give up.β
The Magic have had a busy offseason. The team protected 2019 first-round pick Reid, who won Rookie of the Year in 2019, as well as 2019 second-round pick DT and ToXsiK, whom the team acquired from Grizz Gaming mid-season. Magic Gaming traded the No. 14 overall pick to Detroit for Pistons GT first-round pick May after the expansion draft.
