Pistons GT has agreed to trade May to Magic Gaming for the 14th overall pick in the NBA 2K League 2020 entry draft, sources tell DIMER.
The Pistons drafted May with the 16th overall pick in the season two entry draft, the team’s second pick following the selection of MrStylez at 4th overall. The center put up 11.5 points per game, 11.2 rebounds per game, 3.8 assists per game and 1.4 steals per game during the regular season, where the Pistons went 2-14.
May will join a Magic team that barely missed out on last season’s playoffs and made the semifinals of both the Tipoff and Ticket tournaments. He’ll be on a roster beside protected players Reizey—season two’s Rookie of the Year—DT and Toxsik, helmed by Head Coach Jonah Edwards.
The move seems to signal another roster reconstruction for the Pistons, who parted ways with star player Lets Get It Ramo after season one. As it stands, Detroit will own the 4th and 14th overall picks in the next entry draft, similar to their situation a year ago. DevGoss will stand as the only remaining player on the Piston’s roster barring no additional moves.
The trade is not officially completed, as the first offseason trade window opens up at the start of Friday’s expansion draft, and goes through Nov. 15.
UPDATE: The trade has been officially announced by both teams on Twitter.
