There’s been a lot of player movement in the EU Pro-Am community since the start of the NBA 2K20 cycle. From teams breaking up, such as the combined Blackhorns and Growth EU roster or BuzzerBeater, to the notable amount of top players currently without a team, it’s been nothing short of crazy.
There’s also been a lot of activity from two French teams over the last week, CSP Gaming and Nanterre Gaming, both adding big names to their rosters. For CSP Gaming, affiliated with professional French basketball club CSP Limoges, they made some major moves by both bringing in new players and letting go of old ones. The original SupremacyFR team will no longer play together, since iBrax0_, HENNi_0, and KDJ__3 all left the team, while CSP Gaming added the dynamic French PG Mastour to the squad.

Just one day later, Nanterre Gaming, which is affiliated with French professional basketball club Nanterre 92, added star PG WinTex__ to their roster, a former BCM Gaming player who is just 16 years old. Things have been very turbulent in the EU Pro-Am community over the last week, and I think it’ll be interesting to see how things play out. Given what’s already happened so far, nothing is off the table, and anything is possible… we’ll just have to wait and see.

On a more positive note, it’s good to see that some competitive Pro-Am tournaments are being held. The EBO Pro-Am League announced a star-studded “EU EBO Tournament” lineup, featuring top teams from all around the continent. From Bayern Ballers Gaming and Rise Above to the previously mentioned CSP Gaming, the tournament will feature top teams as well as lots of top EU players.

In the “EU EBO Tournament” will play the three European players who have participated in the NBA2K League: @GoonerEU , @Hazzaa_Hurst and @JLB_2K. A pleasure to have all these teams and players. Good luck to you all!
There’s also a competition currently being held by Spanish organisation Torneos, involving group play followed by elimination games. The standard is relatively high, as the tournament features teams like GNA EU, Bundesdunk, and other notable aforementioned teams. For anyone looking to tune into some comp EU Pro-Am action, I’d definitely recommend some of these tournament games as of right now.
Finally, after a hiatus from Twitter, the 2K European Summer League (2KEUSL) asked players about their preferences in terms of entry fees and cash prizes. While this might not seem particularly exciting, I think it’s a very good sign of things to come. Not only might we see regular tournaments being held by the 2KEUSL organisation, we might also see cash prizes becoming a regular feature of EU Pro-Am competitions, which is something that’s been lacking over the last number of years. With more than just pride on the line, who knows how cash prizes could impact the EU Pro-Am community? One thing that I know for sure is, it’s definitely a step in the right direction.
