Regular season champion Blazer5 Gaming has acquired Majes7ic from Heat Check Gaming in exchange for the team’s first-round pick, 19th overall, in the NBA 2K League 2020 entry draft, the teams announced today.
Majes7ic, selected in the second round of the inaugural NBA 2K League entry draft, has been deployed in just about every position on the court for Derric “FamousEnough” Franklin and the Heat. In season two he averaged 10.3 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game, 2.3 assists per game and 1.8 steals per game. He was part of Heat Check Gaming’s season one finals team, and was protected following that debut campaign.
Majes7ic will join a Portland team that has claimed regular season dominance for two straight seasons, but has yet to win a playoff game. With OneWildWalnut and Mama Im Dat Man, season one and season two MVPs, respectively, set to shoulder the offensive load once again, the new acquisition may find himself in a few different roles from the 2 through 4 positions. The team also protected LavishPhenom prior to this year’s expansion draft.
The move for Blazer5 is reminiscent of last year’s offseason, when it unloaded its first-round pick, 17th overall, for Bucks Gaming’s King Peroxide, who later found himself as a sixth player in favor of JomarPR12 down the stretch of the season.
It looks to be something of a reload for the Heat, whose sole rostered player is Hotshot. The team will head into the entry draft with the 8th and 19th overall picks and practically every position outside of center needing to be filled after a disappointing season two that saw it miss the playoffs.
