In its third move of the offseason trade window, Pistons GT has acquired point guard Demon JT from Wizards District Gaming in exchange for Pacers Gaming’s second-round pick in the NBA 2K League 2020 entry draft, the teams announced this morning.
Originally a first-round pick for the Wizards in the inaugural NBA 2K League entry draft, Demon JT hasn’t quite lived up to that billing. After being overshadowed by Boo Painter and the 5-Out offense in season one, Demon JT put up just 8.3 points per game and 5 assists per game for the Wizards in season two, at one point being replaced by ReeseDaGod to run the offense.
It will be a fresh start for Demon JT, who went unprotected by the Wizards following the most recent season. He’ll join longtime Pro-Am teammate Lets Get It Ramo along with DevGoss in Detroit.
It’s a retain-and-trade move for the Wizards, who protected Dayfri and Reese after season two. They will forfeit their own fourth-round pick in the entry draft and essentially move up to the second round with this trade.
The Pacers Gaming pick was first acquired by the Pistons in the Lets Get It Ramo trade. The team also traded center May to Magic Gaming in exchange for the 14th overall pick in the entry draft.
