The Minnesota Timberwolves affiliate joined the NBA 2K League for the 2019 season alongside three other expansion teams: Lakers Gaming (Los Angeles Lakers), Hawks Talon GC (Atlanta Hawks), and Nets GC (Brooklyn Nets). The team hired Shawn Vilvens as head coach/GM last October and added Max Minsker, co-founder of 2K Analytics, as Business Manager. Minsker and 2K Analytics drafted for T-Wolves Gaming in the NBA 2K League expansion draft in September, where they traded the third overall pick (oLarry) to Cavs Legion GC for Hood and selected former 76ers GC power forward iFeast with the sixth overall pick. The organization also brought on Raenah Hawkins as Content Coordinator.
T-Wolves Gaming released renderings of their under-construction training facility earlier this year. They are the first expansion team to unveil their in-game court for the 2019 NBA 2K League season. The team has the No. 11 pick in the March 5 NBA 2K League Entry Draft, as well as one pick in each of the draft’s subsequent three rounds.
