Barclays Center will host the 2019 NBA 2K League entry draft on March 5. 74 players from a 204-person draft pool will be drafted by 21 NBA 2K League teams. Over the offseason, the league added four expansion teams: Hawks Talon GC (Atlanta Hawks), Nets Gaming Crew (Brooklyn Nets), Lakers Gaming (Los Angeles Lakers), and T-Wolves Gaming (Minnesota Timberwolves). The league held an expansion draft on September 26, where each expansion team selected two players from the pool of unprotected season-one players.
Last season, the league held its inaugural entry draft on April 4 and started the TIPOFF tournament on May 1. The added month allows the league to lessen the travel burden on its West Coast teams, who have a far longer travel period to and from the NBA 2K League Studio in Long Island City, New York.
