The league did not specify the reason for Type’s suspension other than a violation of the player Code of Conduct, including the league’s Respect in the Workplace Policy. Type’s suspension runs through the Turn tournament, where Hornets Venom GT (7-4) is the No. 7 seed, and through a week 11 matchup against Hawks Talon GC. Type is eligible to return for Hornets Venom GT’s second week 11 series, against the Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai, on July 31.
Hornets Venom GT drafted Type, formerly of Warriors Gaming Squad, first overall in the 2019 expansion draft, The 2019 Defensive Player of the Year candidate was averaging 15.2 points, 12 rebounds, and a combined 5.6 steals/blocks per game before being replaced in the starting lineup, without explanation, by fourth-round pick Gliz in week seven of the regular season. He has not played since appearing in a three-game win over Celtics Crossover Gaming in week six.
Type is the third NBA 2K League player to be suspended this season.
