It’s been a crazy few days, with the NBA 2K League sending out emails to prospects who made the top 175 of the Season 3 draft pool. Based on combine results, five European players made the cut, and it was revealed today that another five European players will feature in the final draft pool.
The five added players come from the EU Invitational, an event held by the NBA 2K League in London last week to showcase top European 2K players with ambitions of making the league. Star point guard Marcel ‘MGoCrzy’ Stohl secured himself a position in the draft pool after leading his team to victory and winning tournament MVP.
Along with Marcel, four other players made the draft pool by way of the European Invitational. Spanish point guard Edduardopv was among this group, along with former Mavs Gaming player JLB_2K, who was a part of the league in Season 1 after being drafted 35th overall. WelshJordy- was selected after his dominant performance in the event, playing at both SF and C and impressing scouts on the stage. Finally, the highly regarded AveMario32, considered to be the most talented player attending the London event, was chosen by scouts after his performances over the two days. Having previously made the Top 150 prospects list in Season 2 of the NBA 2K League, he’ll be no stranger to the draft process, where he can hopefully make a splash this year.

JUST IN: Along with @MGoCrzy, who won the @NBA2KLeague European Invitational MVP Award, fellow Europeans @avemario32, @edduardopv, @WelshJordy7 & @JLB_2K have been added to 2020 draft pool. @Mastour, who was also in the Euro Invitational, made draft pool by way of combine. 🏀🎮
If you’d like to learn more about the players, I have done interviews with Jordan (which you can access here), and Mario (which you can read here) in the past. With more EU players than ever involved in the advanced stages of the NBA 2K League draft process, I’m really excited to see how the draft plays out. With just 1 European player involved in the league in Season 2, I’m confident we can increase that number for next year!
