Hawks Talon GC’s two rostered players, Dat Boy Shotz and Rando, have both informed the organization they are looking for a trade out of Atlanta, sources tell DIMER.
The trade requests come just a little over three weeks after the franchise protected both players from the offseason expansion draft, which is set to take place at some undisclosed point during the NBA 2K League’s second offseason.
Neither player has a destination preference, sources indicated, and the requests are coincidental of each other. Dat Boy Shotz was the franchise’s first player after being selected with the top pick in the 2018 expansion draft from two-time regular season champions Blazer5 Gaming. He averaged a team-best 16.6 points per game in the Hawks Talon GC’s inaugural season.
Rando, a second-round pick in the 2019 entry draft, averaged 14.7 points per game and 4.1 assists per game in his rookie campaign, splitting time between point guard and sharpshooter.
Hawks Talon GC jumped out to an auspicious start to its first-ever season, going 4-3 with wins against eventual playoff teams Celtics Crossover Gaming, Kings Guard Gaming and Warriors Gaming Squad.
But after some lineup shuffles and a trade that saw first-round entry draft pick DevGoss swapped for Pistons GT’s top selection MrStylez, the team faltered in the latter half of the season, finishing 5-11 on the year and well outside of a playoff spot. The team also failed to win a tournament game, going 0-4 on the year.
