Utah Jazz Gaming is looking to hire a community coordinator.
The community coordinator will work with the Jazz throughout the season, beginning in late January. A part-time position, the coordinator will work in a variety of different roles for the team, from marketing to logistics to content coordination.
The team recently named Jonathan Rinehart as the team’s managing director, while inaugural esports director Josh Barney was promoted to a different role in the Jazz organization. Last season, the team finished 8-8 and made a semifinal appearance at the Turn Tournament in Las Vegas. Head coach Jelani “Comp” Mitchell will return for his second season in 2020, while the team has former top-3 picks Yeah I Compete and Ria on the roster, along with 2019 in-season acquisition Lotty.

- Assist Jazz Gaming team in all aspects of the team’s operational and marketing efforts.
- Collaborates with the marketing team to fully understand Jazz Gaming communication needs.
- Attend Jazz Gaming games (virtually) and assist with game day operations.
- Organize partner community events and activations within the community.
- Based on assessment, drafts and proposes communications campaigns, which may include social and online media, print media, and other multimedia.
- Presents design ideas and recommendations for marketing manager and team.
- Evaluates success of campaigns when completed.
- Organize documents, digital materials, and promotions; communicating with appropriate vendors to finalize production of content.
- Compile and distribute highlight clips for Jazz Gaming marketing.
- Develop content calendars and execute on content strategies.

- Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, Communications, or related field.
- Previous experience working for a team or athletic department with a strong grasp on social media tactics, consumer behavior, and the world of sport.
- Previous marketing and/or social media experience in addition to event planning experience.
- Must have strong writing skills.
- Must be detail-oriented in order to effectively perform duties as listed above.
- Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly.
- Must be able to take direction and work well with others.

- The position will run from January 15, 2019 thru August 31, 2020. Performance reviews will take place periodically and Jazz Gaming reserves the right to terminate employment.
- Various hours, Monday — Friday, weekend work, nights and all Jazz Gaming regular season games (plus Playoffs) during the 2020 NBA2K League season.
- Please be aware that many games fall on weekends and some are played during traditional holiday seasons.
