The NBA 2K League announced the qualification parameters for players to earn a spot in the season three draft combine in a public release on Monday.
The first stage of qualification for aspiring prospects begins Tuesday, Oct. 22 and will go through Sunday, Nov. 10. Players must win at least 50 games in Pro-Am or the Rec and win at least 50 percent of their games in order to advance.
Last year, players were required to play 100 games with at least a 50 percent win rate.
Equally important, players must complete an online application, available later this month, by Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. ET. The application will include questions on general applicant information, gaming background, basketball IQ, NBA 2K IQ and an audio submission about why the applicant wants to be drafted into the NBA 2K League, according to the league.
As always, the qualifier is open to any player with a copy of NBA 2K20 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Players must be over 18 by the start of the qualifier.
The league also said the NBA 2K League combine will conclude in December, at which point “the best players will be identified and made eligible” for the season three entry draft in 2020.
Similar to last year, the league will hold international tryouts with players selected outside of North America, after which certain participants will be entered into the draft pool.
Unlike previous years, NBA 2K League teams will hold tournaments with potential draft pool spots up for grabs for select participants.
