Warriors Gaming Squad pulls off the “upset” and shocks the world!!!
Kinda.
The Warriors were the 8th seed, controversially so, as many believed they didn’t care about the regular season after locking up a playoff berth by winning the Ticket tournament.
It is still an impressive feat to knock off the best team in league history (strictly record-based, not my opinion).
Regardless, Warriors Gaming Squad obliterated Blazer5 Gaming in game one, 67-45.
In game one, the Warriors took over from tip-off, jumping out to an early 28-7 lead. Outside of a few runs here and there, Warriors Gaming Squad seemed to cruise the rest of the way. The entire team was on but Gradient and Type stepped up and made MVP-favorite Mama Im Dat Man a non-factor throughout the majority of the game.
They then completed the sweep by winning game two, 61-55.
Game two was a better contest but Warriors Gaming Squad was able to stifle any adjustments made by Blazer5 Gaming. Outside of a back-and-forth first half, this one was the Warriors to win.
The game was close at halftime, with the Warriors leading 31-29. But as soon as the ball was inbounded to start the second half, the Warriors went on a 13-4 run — taking over control of the game.
There were some doubts with how poorly the Warriors finished the season. But the Warriors prove it yet again. When the money is on the line, they show up.
Warriors Gaming Squad moves on to the semifinals to play the winner of T-Wolves Gaming and Kings Guard Gaming.
