To no one’s surprise, MVP, DPOY, and COY, three of last year’s six awards, will return once again this season, alongside several more community-expected awards, league sources told DIMER.
This season’s awards awards will be decided by players, team personnel, media, league on-air talent, fans, and/or NBA 2K League officials. Similar to last season, fans will have a chance to contribute to MVP voting as part of the league’s deal with Alienware.
Last year, the league handed out six combined player/team awards. OneWildWalnut took home MVP and Defensive Player of the Year Honors, while Pistons GT manager Duane Burton was named Coach of the year. Boo Painter, then of Wizards District Gaming, won the inaugural Play of the Year award.
More to come.
