Hawks Talon GC has partnered with Northside Hospital as the franchise’s official sports medicine provider, the team announced Thursday.
The first NBA 2K League expansion team with a healthcare partnership, Hawks Talon will visit the Elite Performance Therapy facility at the Terminus Building-Buckhead throughout the season.
“We are excited to team up with Northside Hospital whose commitment to the next generation of Atlantans is unmatched in our community,” said Hawks Talon’s Team Manager and Head Coach Wesley Acuff. “It is paramount for us to have a partner focused on our players’ health and wellness as we strive for each member of Hawks Talon to consistently perform at their best.”
The partnership will give Northside Hospital brand exposure on all baseline and courtside signs as well as on the side lower basket pads of each basket stanchion during all Hawks Talon GC home games. The hospital insignia will also appear on the sleeves of the team’s uniforms.
“Collaborating with elite esports teams, such as the Hawks Talon GC, to maximize player performance while minimizing injury is an innovative way to apply our sports medicine and performance expertise in the care of athletes on the new frontier of sports,” said Dr. Vonda Wright, orthopedic surgeon and Chief of the Northside Hospital Sports Medicine Network. “We are honored that Hawks Talon have entrusted our experts with the care of their athletes.”
Hawks Talon joins a small group of NBA 2K League franchises with healthcare partners. Magic Gaming became the first NBA 2K League team with a healthcare partner in February 2019; Orlando Health became the exclusive provider of medical care (physical and mental) to Magic Gaming players. Orlando Health also became the team’s jersey sponsor. Bucks Gaming recently announced Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin as a founding partner, serving as the team’s official health network. Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin is one of the Milwaukee Bucks’ five founding partners.
