Magic Gaming has partnered with pizza company Papa John’s, marking the first time an esports property has teamed up with Papa John’s for a win promotion, the team announced Wednesday.
Papa John’s is the world’s third-largest pizza delivery company. Central Florida fans will get 50 percent off their online orders at PapaJohns.com the day after Magic Gaming victories when they use the promo code ‘MGWIN’ throughout the remainder of the season.
“We’re really excited,” Papa John’s Central Florida Marketing Director Michelle Puterbaugh said. “We’ve been partners with the Orlando Magic for a very long time, love what they represent, the community and the support of Orlando and the exposure of Orlando. So with this new business endeavor they have and this new arena of sports, we’re really excited to extend our partnership into that.”
Magic Gaming has fashioned a number of unique partnerships, including with Full Sail University, with AS Monaco football club, with Boxed Water and now with Papa John’s. Papa John’s has partnered with the Orlando Magic, Magic Gaming’s parent NBA organization, for over 18 years.
This is not the first NBA 2K League-pizza partnership. Pistons GT has a notable deal with Hungry Howie’s, which includes a win promotion (and, very briefly, a massive Hungry Howie’s logo on the Pistons GT home court). Nonetheless, it’s good to see Magic Gaming transfer another partnership from the NBA franchise to their esports outfit, and with the team 3-3 after a win over Pistons GT, Magic Gaming fans might be eating more pizza sooner rather than later.
