Lakers Gaming point guard Kontrul is frustrated with Lakers Gaming and has indicated his desire to be moved to another team, sources tell DIMER.
The Lakers point guard has not formally requested a trade from Los Angeles but has made his desire to be moved known to various teams in the league, with his preferred move being a reunion with his season one team, Magic Gaming. In 2018, he was Magic Gaming’s first-round selection in the first-ever NBA 2K League draft but was not retained after the season.
The fifth overall pick in the 2018 expansion draft (the Lakers’ second), Kontrul began the season playing as a lockdown defender but has since moved to his natural point guard position. Through the first four weeks of the regular season, Kontrul is averaging 7.4 points and 5 assists per game. In three tournament games, he has averaged nearly 12 points and over 2 steals per game.
One of four new expansion teams, Lakers Gaming has struggled in the early going, sitting at just 1-4 after the first four weeks of the season. The team went 1-1 in the Tipoff Tournament and was eliminated from the Turn Tournament by Knicks Gaming in a play-in game.
