Hawks Talon GC has agreed to send first-round pick DevGoss to Pistons GT in exchange for fourth overall pick MrStylez. The trade was officially announced Monday morning.
With the Pistons, DevGoss will join Pro-Am teammate Insanitty, with whom he made the finals of the NBA 2K17 Road to the All-Star Game tournament. DevGoss averaged 13 points per game on 50% shooting for Hawks Talon GC after being selected with the No. 13 overall pick, the franchise’s first-ever entry draft selection.
“We are extremely excited to have Devin come to Detroit and represent the organization. Devin is a player we have had our eye on for a while now and have had a great relationship with since the inception of the league,” said Adam Rubin, Manager of esports for Pistons GT. “We’d also like to thank Andrew for everything he has done for the club. It was not an easy decision to make, and we wish him all the best for his career moving forward”.
Pistons GT has struggled to start the season, going just 1-4 in its first 5 games. MrStylez averaged 11.2 points and 8.6 per game in the regular season. This is the team’s second trade: they acquired the first-round pick used on MrStylez in exchange for 2018 MVP candidate Ramo.
Hawks Talon GC will likely move Rando back to his more natural position of a secondary ballhandler and sharpshooter, although he has performed admirably in several starts at point guard. At 3-2, the Hawks have the best record of any of the four expansion teams and will add a talented, pass-first point guard to a roster revolving around No. 1 expansion draft pick Dat Boy Shotz.
“We are thrilled to welcome MrStylez to Hawks Talon GC. He will add elite playmaking capabilities and become a key contributor as we strive to build a championship culture in Atlanta,” Hawks Talon Team Manager and Head Coach Wesley Acuff said. “I want to thank DevGoss for his contributions and wish him the best of luck.”
Pistons GT takes on Magic Gaming and T-Wolves Gaming in Week 5, while Hawks Talon GC will face Grizz Gaming on Friday, May 17.
